Real "Paper" Plates
I LOVE these plates! And if I had my dream "closet" (you know, the one that is the size of a single car garage stall) where I could put all my entertaining wants and needs, I would buy a set of these! And I would have a back-to-school party... for all my friends... a brunch, right after we dropped off the kids to their first day of school.
Click here for more information about these plates, cups, glasses, etc.

I took my youngest kids to the movies this week and we ordered popcorn! I love, love, LOVE movie theater popcorn! I would love to have a popper like this for our house! I looked at Costco and Sam's Club... and online. I found this website, Keep it Poppin, that had some great deals on poppers! Maybe a family gift for Christmas??

Current Giveaway - Romano's Macaroni Grill Restaurant Favorites

We recently tried the new Romano's Macaroni Grill Restaurant Favorites for a family dinner! We tried the Creamy Basil variety... and...
we
loved
it!
My fifteen year old son actually had three servings!
I made two boxes, and used 2 lbs of chicken. That served three adults, and three children... plus enough for two additional meals for a lunch this week. (And that is with the triple servings that my son had!)
The box said that the prep time is 20 minutes. I was very skeptical!! But... wouldn't you know... it was ready in just UNDER 20 minutes. I had to hold up serving dinner because I didn't have everything else ready! I served this meal with sauteed fresh green beans and a crusty bread!
It was a perfect meal... easy and very delicious! And it appealed to all ages in my family... adults to young children.
As a member of MyBlogSpark, I am able to offer 3 READERS a gift basket that includes a sample of a Romano's Macaroni Grill Restaurant Favorites, coupons to try the additional varieties, a colander, a spoon and a grater!! It is an AWESOME gift basket. AND THREE READERS will be selected to win this great offer!!.jpg)
So... leave a comment by midnight, Monday, May 4 to be entered into the drawing! Winners will be selected by random.org and will be posted on Tuesday morning! Please make sure you leave a way for me to contact you! In your comment, let me know what your favorite thing to talk about at the dinner table is! I'd love to know. We generally talk about scheduling issues. Boring, I know!
Click here for a free coupon you can download for $1.00 off your next Romano's Macaroni Grill Restaurant Favorites purchase!

Pylones - Fun Kitchen Tools and More
A new favorite on-line shop!! Pylones (pronounced pee-lone) has some of the cutest stuff you'll ever see. Pylones was founded in France in 1985 and currently the only US stores are in New York. Below are just three samples of things I fell in love with!
Beware: their website is very user friendly and has so many pages filled with unique stuff! It could take a good part of your morning to look around!
Set of twelve paper clips... perfect for making favorite recipes in cookbooks or magazines! $4.00 for twelve. I think these would also be very cute as a decorative piece to an invitation to a bridal shower!

Perpetual Kid - Food Face Plates
I recently found a fun website. I spent too much time checking out all the fun stuff at Perpetual Kid. They bill themselves as the place to "entertain your inner child" and they have a ton of great gift ideas!!!
Love it.
Here are a few, very random, things that I fell in love with!
This is a rug, designed to look like a sewer cover direct from the streets of New York! How clever? $26.99 Click here for more information.
This Lil' Sprout Growth Chart is p.e.r.f.e.c.t. Especially for families with more than one kid! I love everything about this fun way of keeping track of growing kids!! Place a picture in the slot as each new height is reached. Can you imagine how fun this would be to hand over to your son or daughter, at the birth of their first son or daughter? $19.99 Click here for more info.
Food Face Plate set... reminiscent of Dan the Magnetic Man... how fun! I wonder if this would help my 4 year old son with some of his eating issues?? It would sure be fun to try! $8.00 Click here for more info.Wednesday, March 18, 2009
Supreme Sacrifice Day
Today is Supreme Sacrifice Day!
I'm not making this up! Click here.
The website explains...
History is filled with examples of people who offered the supreme sacrifice for other people.
Today is a day to reflect and offer thanks and appreciation to those who made the supreme sacrifice for us.
Note: I am making fun a little of this holiday... that is why I edited some of the information from the website. I don't want to be irreverent.
So... in honor of this holiday... I would like to pay tribute to a great sacrifice that recently took place in my home. After three-plus years of faithful service, we said goodbye to a big part of our daily lives today! Today... Supreme Sacrifice Day, we recognize the dependability, the reliability of our good friend. She was there for us, day in and day out... always willing to do the icky work, and always doing it so silently and efficiently.
Yes, our dishwasher died a very ugly, loud death today.
So, the Supreme Sacrifice that I hail today is not only that of our dishwasher, but also that of my husband's wallet!
Thank you! Thank you!

Hug Salt and Pepper Shakers
The Hug Salt and Pepper Shakers from ochelly.com are identical in shape... they differ only in their colors and the number of holes in their faces.
When I was little I always thought that I wanted a salt and pepper shaker collection. You know... some people collect stamps, Troll Dolls, etc... I wanted to collect salt and pepper shakers. It never stuck.
Anyway, if I were to start a collection as a grown-up, this would be my first purchase! I love them. I love that they are whimsical, unique and hugging.

Top Chef Apron
I love Top Chef. I'm not a Top Chef... or even a Middle Chef... but I still think this is a super cool gift idea. I would love one!
However... Bravo TV Online is saying that this $30 apron is sold-out. Maybe for my birthday?

Spoon Sisters
I recently discovered a fun website with unique gift ideas. The Spoon Sisters has almost 29 different categories to help you find the perfect gift! Right now they are offering $5 off a $50 online purchase. The code for this discount is GIFT and the offer expires 1/15/09.
This may look just like the bag that you carry home from the pet store, but don’t be fooled…this plastic goldfish is not swimming in water, it’s embedded in clear, glycerin soap shaped like "water in a bag". I love this idea as a hostess gift, or a thank you gift to a babysitter!! Click here for more info.
With these long handles, the Dipping Spoons are perfect for getting in to spice jars. It's always a balancing act to get in to my spices that I buy from warehouse stores... and these spoons would be perfect. I love them!Posted by Alison at 4:55 PM 1 comments

Fall Cookie Cutters
IF I made sugar cookies, I would totally make these candy corn cookies!! Too cute. Cookie cutter $1.44 at Off the Beaten Path.
This set is $10.95 and includes 7 cutters that range in size from 3" to 4.5".
I have a favorite local bakery that will make and decorate sugar cookies for a reasonable price and the best part is that I can provide them with my own cutter to use! I have had cookies made for birthday party favors, sports team treats and as client gifts! I love that they can be personalized for just about anything!
Off the Beaten Path is a family owned and operated warehouse where you can get some great deals on all styles of cookie cutters and other bake ware needs!

Kate Spade Coasters

I love polka dots. Love them. I don't decorate with them, and I don't wear them. But I still really love them.
And I love coasters. (I also really love place mats... weird, I know!)
Kate Spade has the cutest coasters. $20 for a set of 8! Not bad for some fun designer, but probably totally impractical, coasters!

Funny Magnets
This is a 3D magnet, that says "Happy Anniversary to You" when pressed. Today is my 20th Anniversary... that is why I picked this one!
This is another 3D magnet. When pushed the phone rings, and the little red light flashes.
This would be way fun with pictures of friends and family!

Fridgedoor.com has some great collections of magnets. Check them out.
