Happy Tape!

Japanese tape?  Never heard of it!  But... I think I've fallen in love!

Happytape is made in Japan and uses traditional washi paper.  Each roll is 50-feet long and comes in 2 different widths and over 120 fun colors and patterns.  And on most papers it is repositionable.

The Happytape website suggests using the tape in scrapbooking, gift wrapping and all manners of crafts.  I love the idea of taking a plain gift bag, or gift box and decorating it up with this awesome tape!!

Each roll is approximately $5.

Expressionery.com

One of my favorite websites for purchasing gifts, Expressionery.com, is having a site-wide 40% off sale.
There are some exclusions (which I guess makes it a semi-site-wide sale) and offer expires in January 2010. Use discount code: Holiday.

At Zazzle you can 'create' all sorts of things! T-shirts, bags, mugs...

You can add text, pictures, graphics...
I like the idea of using the mugs as gift holders. They would be perfect to hold treats, flowers, gift certificates, etc. It's all about presentation.
Each personalized mug is $13.

Slippers from Bestever, Inc.

I love giving my kids slippers as gifts. They are such a 'luxury' item, meaning we don't HAVE to HAVE them, and at such an affordable price.

I like these styles (there are many more available) from Bestever, Inc. They range in price from $11 - $15 a pair... and come in sizes toddler to ADULT! Adult slippers with poodles??? How funny! I'm thinking my family might just have our annual Christmas card pictures taken and we'll all be wearing matching pajamas and slippers! NOT! (That is a picture that would end up here.)

I discovered the art of Sally Huss years ago on a trip to LaJolla with my husband. I fell in love with her style immediately! She calls her art "Happy Art." And it is!! You can't help but feel happy in her galleries or peeking around her website!

I love how she has utilized her Happy Musings in to a fun gift line. This key chain below is so sweet!

Oh, and Sally has a great and happy blog... take a look!

Nothing bundt Cakes

At a fundraiser a number of years ago, Nothing bundt Cakes donated a cake as a silent auction item. I'll be honest... I was shocked at the stated value for this item. $30 for a standard, 10-inch cake.
Then...
I tasted the cake...
Oh manna from heaven.

I had the Lemon Cake. The flavor of the month currently is Almond Poppyseed. That sounds wonderful!!
But, I think I really want to try their Red Velvet Cake.
And because I'm struggling with which flavor to choose...
I might just order their Bundlets.
A dozen mini cakes, packaged perfectly for gifting (LOVE THAT!!!), is $45.

Placecard Holders as Photo Holders

I love giving placecard holders as little gifts. I generally buy a set and break up the set, giving one at a time. I place thank you cards, or meaningful pictures in where the placecard is supposed to go. I love these especially as a teacher gift. I snap a picture of my child with the teacher... generally at a field trip or some other activity, and use that in the holder. Makes a perfect thank you gift, teacher appreciation gift... etc. And they are small enough that they can easily fit on a desk or table.

The set above are from World Market. The set of three is $10.

A Twist on the Traditional "Magic 8 Ball"

These hilarious gag gifts are only $8.00 each at McPhee. I like giving little "this-is-so-perfect-I-just-had-to-get-it-for-you" gifts to friends and family. I think that these magic balls would be perfect... especially at just $8 each.

Some of the items on the McPhee website are bizarre... like this one and this one... but they really do have some clever stuff.

Enjoy!

Perpetual Kid - Food Face Plates

I recently found a fun website. I spent too much time checking out all the fun stuff at Perpetual Kid. They bill themselves as the place to "entertain your inner child" and they have a ton of great gift ideas!!!

Love it.

Here are a few, very random, things that I fell in love with!

This is a rug, designed to look like a sewer cover direct from the streets of New York! How clever? $26.99 Click here for more information.

This Lil' Sprout Growth Chart is p.e.r.f.e.c.t. Especially for families with more than one kid! I love everything about this fun way of keeping track of growing kids!! Place a picture in the slot as each new height is reached. Can you imagine how fun this would be to hand over to your son or daughter, at the birth of their first son or daughter? $19.99 Click here for more info.

Food Face Plate set... reminiscent of Dan the Magnetic Man... how fun! I wonder if this would help my 4 year old son with some of his eating issues?? It would sure be fun to try! $8.00 Click here for more info.

Restoration Hardware - Luxury Plush Throw

I have two words for these throw blankets from Restoration Hardware...
BEST.EVER.

I am not kidding. I received the ivory throw as a gift for Christmas. It took my husband about 48 hours to adopt the throw as his own. Thankfully, his birthday is in early January, and I was able to plan a trip to Restoration Hardware to get him his very own. I bought him the chocolate throw.

We love our throws!! They are the perfect size to snuggle under while watching tv... and when we are lucky enough to get a Sunday afternoon nap... P.E.R.F.E.C.T.

I do have one complaint...

our local Restoration Hardware is across town, not somewhere I go regularly. I need to get two more... for my teenagers and I've yet to plan a trip to get them. Maybe this weekend.

And I know... I could order them online. But it is too dang fun to shop at Restoration Hardware in person.
