Stuffing
½ cup of celery, chopped
1/3 cup onion, chopped
4 oz butter
12 c dry bread, cubed
½ tsp black pepper
1 tsp sage
1 ½ cups chicken broth (I prefer Progresso)
Preheat oven to 375 and grease a 9x13 dish. Saute onion and celery in butter until onion is transparent. In a large mixing bowl, mix bread, cooked vegetables and seasonings. Add the chicken broth slowly to the bread, tossing until evenly moist. Place dressing in prepared dish and bake until thoroughly heated, and lightly brown, 25 – 35 minutes

Amazingly Simple Home Remedies
- Avoid cutting yourself when slicing vegetables by getting someone else to hold them while you chop
- For high blood pressure sufferers: simply cut yourself and bleed for a few minutes, thus reducing the pressure in your veins. Remember to use a timer.
- A mouse trap, placed on top of your alarm clock, will prevent you from rolling over and going back to sleep after you hit the snooze button.
- If you have a bad cough, take a large dose of laxatives; then you'll be afraid to cough.
- You only need two tools in life - WD-40 and Duct Tape. If it doesn't move and should, use the WD -40. If it shouldn't move and does, use the duct tape.
- If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem.
Thanks to my friend Marie for this great post!

Stadium Seats
High School soccer season is about to start. Actually yesterday was our daughter's first scrimmage game! With two kids on the high school soccer teams I'm going to be at a lot of games.
This is what the Dick's Sporting Goods website said about the seats: The GCI Outdoor™ Bleacher-Back™ seat offers fully reclining back support for sitting on bleachers with a nylon adjustable strap and a 2-in padded seat cushion. The folding design and carrying strap make it easy to transport, and it includes an oversized storage pouch for holding a wallet, keys, etc.
P.S. These seats worked great inside for volleyball season as well!

I think this gift pack is a fun idea. Six tins in a slipcase for $15. The six flavors included are:
Mojito Mint (lime mint cocktail)
7 Deadly Cinnamon (hot cinnamon)
Sugar Free Tibet (wintergreen)
Night Light (caffeinated chai)

"Mr. Finnegan's Giving Chest" Giveaway
I love Christmas. I love children's stories. I love books!
Combine the three and I'm hooked.
Add Dick Van Dyke and I think I'm in heaven!
"Mr. Finnegan's Giving Chest" is a wonderful Christmas story that teaches about the spirit of Christmas... the giving and serving others part that is such a wonderful tradition of the Christmas season.
The artwork in "Mr. Finnegan's Giving Chest" is remarkable. It was created with state-of-the-art 3D imagery. Dick Van Dyke's likeness is the title character - Mr. Finnegan. It is such a close likeness it almost looks like a photo.
Who would like a hardbound copy of this wonderful book? Leave a comment here by midnight, Tuesday, November 25 for a chance to win this for your library... or to use as a great Christmas gift for someone special in your life.
Did I mention the book includes a CD recording of Dick Van Dyke reading the story?? So fun!

Spoon Sisters
I recently discovered a fun website with unique gift ideas. The Spoon Sisters has almost 29 different categories to help you find the perfect gift! Right now they are offering $5 off a $50 online purchase. The code for this discount is GIFT and the offer expires 1/15/09.
This may look just like the bag that you carry home from the pet store, but don’t be fooled…this plastic goldfish is not swimming in water, it’s embedded in clear, glycerin soap shaped like "water in a bag". I love this idea as a hostess gift, or a thank you gift to a babysitter!! Click here for more info.

Hot Vanilla
RECIPE INGREDIENTS:
1/2 cup of whipping cream
1 tablespoon of chocolate syrup
Dash of cinnamon
1 cup of milk (per hot vanilla)
2 teaspoons of sugar (per hot vanilla)
1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract (per hot vanilla)
1. Start with the topping. In a medium bowl, whip 1/2 cup of whipping cream until it's frothy. Add 1 tablespoon of chocolate syrup and a dash of cinnamon, then continue to whip the mixture until everything is well blended and peaks form. Makes enough to top about 6 drinks.
2. For each hot vanilla, microwave 1 cup of milk and 2 teaspoons of sugar in a mug for 90 seconds. Stir in 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract. Top with a dollop of chocolate cream, a drizzle of chocolate syrup, and a dash of cinnamon.

This Place is a Zoo
My husband wants a boxer puppy for Christmas... I think I found one.
But wait... my 7 year old daughter wants a Chihuahua for Christmas... What is a mother to do? A mother that has said for the last 20 years that she won't be getting a dog... she isn't a dog person?
I think I found a solution. Both of those adorable, lifeLIKE puppies above are actually
stuffed animals. They look very realistic when their tummys are moving in and out like they are really breathing. These breathing puppies come with their own blanket to lay on and a cardboard carrying case as well as a certificate of adoption and a care manual. They are $32.50 each and you can purchase them at This Place is a Zoo. I love it!!! What an amazing idea!
Perhaps your family is more exotic... and you need something a little more grand? Check these guys out...
The granddaddy of all stuffed anmials is this guy... when sitting this gorilla measures over 28" tall and retails for $299.00.
Be sure to check out This Place is a Zoo. It looks like they might just have every animal you could think of!!
