BC Danke Footwear

It is no secret that I love flip flops. And I love these unique green beauties!! Green... meaning 'eco-friendly...'

These are from BC Footwear's "I Used to be a Rice Bag" collection. The tops of these chic fashionable eco-friendly sandals are made out of recycled rice bags, so each pair has their own unique look!

How fun!

You can find these at some Nordstrom stores... or Amazon.

Current Giveaway - Romano's Macaroni Grill Restaurant Favorites

We recently tried the new Romano's Macaroni Grill Restaurant Favorites for a family dinner! We tried the Creamy Basil variety... and...

we

loved

it!

My fifteen year old son actually had three servings!

I made two boxes, and used 2 lbs of chicken. That served three adults, and three children... plus enough for two additional meals for a lunch this week. (And that is with the triple servings that my son had!)

The box said that the prep time is 20 minutes. I was very skeptical!! But... wouldn't you know... it was ready in just UNDER 20 minutes. I had to hold up serving dinner because I didn't have everything else ready! I served this meal with sauteed fresh green beans and a crusty bread!

It was a perfect meal... easy and very delicious! And it appealed to all ages in my family... adults to young children.

As a member of MyBlogSpark, I am able to offer 3 READERS a gift basket that includes a sample of a Romano's Macaroni Grill Restaurant Favorites, coupons to try the additional varieties, a colander, a spoon and a grater!! It is an AWESOME gift basket. AND THREE READERS will be selected to win this great offer!!

So... leave a comment by midnight, Monday, May 4 to be entered into the drawing! Winners will be selected by random.org and will be posted on Tuesday morning! Please make sure you leave a way for me to contact you! In your comment, let me know what your favorite thing to talk about at the dinner table is! I'd love to know. We generally talk about scheduling issues. Boring, I know!

Click here for a free coupon you can download for $1.00 off your next Romano's Macaroni Grill Restaurant Favorites purchase!

Sticker "Scenes" from Oriental Trading

My kids enjoy these Design-Your-Own Sticker Scenes from Oriental Trading. Included are enough sheets to make 12 scenes. They are great, inexpensive (Makes 12 for $5), and an easy activity for a wide variety of ages. We use these in the car on trips... they are relatively not messy. I love to break out a set when my kids have friends over, or for an activity for a sick kid to do when they are bored! They come in holiday themes too, which make perfect classroom treats!

Please note: the stickers tend to be a little tricky to get off their sheet, but with the help of an older child or parent, younger kids LOVE this!
Thru April 30, 2009, you can get $10 off any order over $20. That is the best Oriental Trading offer I've ever seen. Use key code ALU912.
Go to OrientalTrading.com and search for "sticker scenes" to see their wide variety!

Goodman's Eye for the Good Guy

Click here for information about Goodman's Eye for the Good Guy contest that is currently going on in Phoenix.

Goodmans Interior Structures is a retail store in Phoenix that has some incredible office equipment. In 2005, Goodmans started a promotion to reward a local non-profit a $20,000 office makeover. COOL! Every day, through May 8, you can vote for one of the ten finalists. You can vote once a day!

This year, there are ten great organizations that are in the running. I would personally like to see UMOM or the ALS Association win.

Placecard Holders as Photo Holders

I love giving placecard holders as little gifts. I generally buy a set and break up the set, giving one at a time. I place thank you cards, or meaningful pictures in where the placecard is supposed to go. I love these especially as a teacher gift. I snap a picture of my child with the teacher... generally at a field trip or some other activity, and use that in the holder. Makes a perfect thank you gift, teacher appreciation gift... etc. And they are small enough that they can easily fit on a desk or table.

The set above are from World Market. The set of three is $10.

Dairy Queen Dilly Bars

I can't remember the last time I've been to Dairy Queen prior to this week! I had a special night out with my eight year old daughter and we drove by a Dairy Queen and impulsively decided to pop in for a treat!
Yummy!
My favorite item on the menu is their Dilly Bars! I ordered a Cherry Dilly Bar... and tried to talk my daughter into getting one. She would not budge... she wanted a vanilla soft serve cone with rainbow sprinkles.
Anyway... I looked up the nutritional value for the Dilly Bar...
210 calories
24 g carbohydrates

Good Girls Steal

I need to buy this shirt for my daughter. This afternoon at her high school softball game she was intentionally walked. (I HATE it when that happens.) My kid likes to hit... so this really frustrates her.

So... after the next girl got up to bat...
she STOLE second

AND THEN

STOLE third... all on the same play.

It was as if she was saying...
HUMPH!!! TAKE THAT!

(I say it was as if she was saying that because I'm pretty sure she has NEVER said "Humph.")

Then, with the next batter...

SHE STOLE HOME!

I really should buy her this shirt! I found it here and it was $16.

I ♥ Shaun!

I had this image on a t-shirt. I wore it until you couldn't see the picture anymore.

I had this album. I had every album... three??? Knew all the songs... probably still know them. Sang them, using my comb as a microphone, with the cassette tape playing LOUD LOUD as my back up!

If he was on the cover... I bought the mag!

Watched every.single.episode. Am now watching the episodes over again with my younger girls. I feel myself swooning every once in awhile. I think it is built in to my DNA to swoon.

I loved the episodes where Joe Hardy would sing as part of his character. ahh...

It is fun to share these memories with my daughters. If I could only get them to stop laughing at the outfits. Ok, and if I could only stop laughing at the outfits. We are almost through season one and it has been fun. The discs have part Hardy Boys... part Nancy Drew. I LOVE NETFLIX!!

Did I mention that I had a life-size poster of Shaun Cassidy in my room when I was growing up? LIFE SIZE!!! And it was right next to my bed... last thing I saw at night, first thing I saw in the morning!

Colgate 360 Toothbrush

This morning I was brushing my teeth and commented about how much I love my new toothbrush. My daughter, who will remain nameless, said... are you going to blog about it?

So, yes! I'm blogging about it.

I love the Colgate 360 Toothbrush. I know that it is weird to "love" a toothbrush... but seriously, this is a good toothbrush.

Mary Poppins Feb 2010

I have pre-ordered tickets

for

Mary Poppins at ASU Gammage

Thursday, February 25, 2010

I have tickets available on the floor (Orchestra Seats) for $74

and Grand Tier Seats (the level directly above the floor... not balcony seats) for $60

I know that this is having to commit really early for something... I know how hard that is. BUT... tickets are already limited. When I was pre-ordering tickets there were already so many sold-out dates (for the Orchestra and Grand Tier). Tickets are not available for sale to the general public at this point. The prices above reflect a 10% discount, per ticket... plus a discounted Gammage handling fee. As a rule, ordering tickets this way will save you 15 - 20% per ticket and will assure that you get tickets.

NO REFUNDS!!

NOTE: It is expected that Mary Poppins will sell out!!

If you are interested, leave a comment with a way to contact you! And I will need a 50% deposit (cash or check) by the end of the week!! The remaining balance will be due June 6.

A Twist on the Traditional "Magic 8 Ball"

These hilarious gag gifts are only $8.00 each at McPhee. I like giving little "this-is-so-perfect-I-just-had-to-get-it-for-you" gifts to friends and family. I think that these magic balls would be perfect... especially at just $8 each.

Some of the items on the McPhee website are bizarre... like this one and this one... but they really do have some clever stuff.

Enjoy!

Pylones - Fun Kitchen Tools and More

A new favorite on-line shop!! Pylones (pronounced pee-lone) has some of the cutest stuff you'll ever see. Pylones was founded in France in 1985 and currently the only US stores are in New York. Below are just three samples of things I fell in love with!

Beware: their website is very user friendly and has so many pages filled with unique stuff! It could take a good part of your morning to look around!

Set of twelve paper clips... perfect for making favorite recipes in cookbooks or magazines! $4.00 for twelve. I think these would also be very cute as a decorative piece to an invitation to a bridal shower!

This salad serving set is absolutely a conversation starter! I love them!! $39 for the set.

Kitchen timer??? Or time-out timer? You decide! Too cute! $36

April... It is the month of...

Living in Arizona, April represents to me the beginning of summer. By the end of this month, it'll be hot. And the heat will be here to stay.

I did recently discover that April also means so many other things.

For example... did you know that

April is Autism Awareness Month.

April is also Car Care Month and Couple Appreciation Month.

It is also National Child Abuse Prevention Month
AND
National Card Letter Writing Month.

We can celebrate because it is
Straw Hat Month
and
Southern Belles Month.

It is Youth Sports Safety Month too.

I think there is something for everyone this month!

Click here for a list of April observances.
